Since January of 2022 we have been hosting a monthly market at The Heritage Barn in Snohomish, WA. These markets have been nothing short of magical. The connections we have made with our local community and visiting patrons has been an amazing experience.
We have welcomed travelers from near and far, all across the country, and even from across the boarder. Folks have driven in from miles away to visit this special place, and have shared their stories with us. It has been an honor to be a part of the restoration of this grand historic structure that meant so much to me all those years ago, and to so many who have visit. It has been an eye opening experience to witness first hand how it has come to life through our local community.
While the barn has been the vessel, we believe that something really special is brewing for this small town. The barn represents a portion of what makes this historic town so meaningful. Snohomish has proven to be not only our home town, but a place for many travelers to rest and discover something they have been searching for. Like myself, many who visit and have chosen to plant roots here have felt that same welcoming embrace.
Countless discussions about community, a longing for connection, the desire to dig deeper, and to believe that something special is buried underneath it all, for us all to discover. When we choose to not give up, we get the chance to experience something much more established and real. More real, because it is earned and requires our investment in many ways, yet also naturally grows and improves. I think many of us are needing this more than we can truly express. After years of being disconnected, we want to be a part of bringing people back together.
Opening our storefront is a small piece of the puzzle, though a big one for us. We know that there is so much more ahead, and we feel ready to take that leap. The memories of our markets at the barn will forever propel us and spur us on to good things. If you have joined in on these markets, we feel so thankful to share in that season with you, and we hope you know how much it has meant to us.
As I write this, I am thankful to say there is one last market to attend. One last chance to savor this enchanting place in this unique way. Friday of market Sweet As Sugar Cotton Candy will be spinning up some yummy treats! Wholesome Baker & Pâtissier will be offering freshly baked Romanian pastries Saturday. The Antique Flower Truck will be offering beautiful blooms Friday & Saturday of the event, and our lovely vendor friends Oak Moss Candles and Jamie Lauby will be set up throughout the weekend. Come say hello this next weekend!
(sweet baby bunnies have been a lovely new addition to the farm this summer, and look at the size of that pumpkin we grew!)
